You can move a task from one task list to anther task list by editing the task, and change the task list property of the task.

You can move all the tasks in "Projects" task list on one Google account to "Project Milestones" on another Google account (assume the task list "Project Milestones" is already exist).

Here are the steps.

Backup vcTasks

When you have a new device or you want to sync tasks to other devices, you can install vcTasks on the new devices and sync with Google on cloud to get all the tasks directly.

If you want to preserve the vcTasks information such as icons, reminders, recurring pattern, categories, priorities ..etc. You need to move data from one device to another device using Backup/Restore feature.

Encryption:

  • Backup files can be encrypted. By default, it's encrypted by a default password.
  • You can set your own encryption password.
  • You can also select to save the backup file in plan-text.
Backup location:
  • The default backup location is the internal sdcard vctasks_backup. You can also change it to other folder (such as the folder in external sccard).
  • When you specific your own backup location, the backup files will be stored under <your selected folder>/vctasks_backup
  • Every time when backup starts, it will move all the exist backup files in vctasks_backup directory to a subfolder (with name by the timestamp, e.g: <your selected folder>/vctasks_backup/201310301130) before writing the new backup to vctasks_backup.
Auto-backup:
  • If Auto-backup is enabled, data will be backup automatically during the first time when you sync with Google on that day or around mid-night daily if there is any updates of the tasks since last backup. (If you have not backup for more than 7 days, it will force to backup anyway when Auto-backup is started.)
  • By default Auto-backup is enabled.

Backup to Cloud:

  • You can download the free app from Play Store called “Dropsync” or "Foldersync Lite", which allows you to sync data in vctasks_backup to Dropbox. Please be reminded that the Dropsync has a file size limitation (5M). The Foldersync Lite doesn't have this limitation, and can sync to two cloud accounts. For details, please refer to the description in Play Store.
Restore:
  • When you restore data, you can select to restore data from last backup location.
